A Comforting Return

I've finally returned home, full of relief and thanks for how well my mom is doing...and so glad that I was able to be with her and care for her during this time. Thank you again for all of your well wishes and kind words...she was blessed by them, and so was I.

I had to teach a class soon after arriving home yesterday (as well as today), and with all that's happened, my mind is a bit 'cloudy' at the moment...so I'm just going to just post some images that I took right before leaving on my trip...as they pretty much express how my spirit feels at the moment...peaceful, quiet...and at rest.

Much of the peace I feel now is not only due to the fact that my mom is doing so well, but it's because I know she is being taken care of so beautifully by her amazing friends who also took great care of me while I was there...I was spoiled rotten with comfort, thoughtfulness, love, and extraordinary home cooked meals (one dear friend made the best chicken soup I've ever had!)...and leaving my mom in the encouraging & capable hands of these gracious people is an enormous relief...we are so fortunate.

And then there is Poppy...who I know for sure will be watching over her night and day...I just wish he could talk on the phone...I would love updates from him...I miss him!

I miss you all as well...I thought I'd be able to 'visit' each of you while my mom was resting but I was busier than I ever imagined...so I hope to 'see' you all very soon, I'm looking forward to catching up. ♥

So good to hear that your mum is in capable hands and that you can feel happy that she is being well looked after. A bit of a weight off of your shoulders I should think. Poppy looks as if he has everything under control !!
Your images are just beautiful and, as you say, peaceful and restful scenes.
I hope that you can try and put your feet up at some point and have some time for yourself.....I'm sure that you need it. XXXX

I am happy to hear that you and your mum are all right. I was a little bit worried.
Pets are great when someone is sick or unhappy. They can give comfort, my Sarah is doing the same.
I would say, rest a little and let everything in your mind coming to peace. Your mum is allright and you were taking care of her and that all is great!

I always think I'll be able to blog from where ever I happen to travel. It never happens. It was great to unplug for a week. I'm going to make a conscious effort to do it more. I'm glad your Mother is better. You will get to Paris, scrimp, save, borrow...
Best,
Liz

What a relief that must be, Jessica; I'm delighted to find you as positively peaceful as your lovely photos, and that your mother is doing so well. Long may it continue.

As I read this Jessica, I hope and pray that Gitzi continues to recover and gain strength? Your photos are stunning and so very calming. When I think of Seattle, Edmonds, & Mukilteo, I think of ferry rides. Ferries are truly the perfect representation to me of the PNW and enjoying the beauty that surrounds you; so calming and peaceful. I must ...must meet you (perhaps @ Red Ticking?) before I leave. I have no date I get to return yet, so I'm hugely open to making it work.

I"m so happy your mother is in good hands and you were so wonderfully cared for too. It's easy to do good things for great people!

Much love,
Deb

Mise~ It's a great relief...thank you, and yes, may it long continue...I love that! xo

Deb~ The ferries signify the beauty of our area for me as well...there's something very special about them isn't there?! I wish I rode them more often...I really should, I'm usually just happy to stare at them and their gorgeous backdrops!
It's going to be wonderful to meet you, I can't wait!! xoxo
