My Daily Tree

Just about everyday I have the privilege of parking under this beautiful tree and it's plethora of extremely bright foliage, which I heard just today is a gift from our not having had a spring or summer. Thank heavens something good came out of all that abnormal and silly weather!

I keep thinking that the leaves can't possibly get any brighter, and then they do...and as far as I'm concerned, they can keep brighten themselves up to the point of me needing sunglasses on just to look at all their vibrant splendour!

The tree's torch like qualities have been especially appreciated on the few gray and cloudy days we've had here recently...I know soon enough that those are what the majority of our days are going to look like, and there will be no warm color palette at all to break the ice, so to speak.
So I'm trying to soak it all in to my memory now in the hopes of warding off as long as possible, the inevitable chill that is bound to occur soon.

For the most part though, our skies have been abundantly blue and sunny lately, which of course is by far my favorite backdrop for the tree, as well as the other trees that have been vying for my attention this Autumn...and whose fleeting beauty I'm hoping to share with you in the very near future before the usual November gusts blow them all away.

Do you have spectacular autumn scenery in your neck of the woods that you're trying to soak in the before the not so pretty chill sets in? I truly hope you do, so that the warm brilliance of this time of year will help in keeping, if not your person...then at least your thoughts and memories nice and toasty...until spring's thaw can properly do the trick.

Hello Jessica:
How wonderfully uplifting to tarry awhile beneath such a glorious tree each day. It looks like an Acer to us and does have the most spectacular colour, particularly when seen against that magnificent azure blue sky. Just the job to lift the spirits and make one feel that all is well with the world.

We hope that your week is going well and that the weekend will be fun!

There isn't a leaf left on any of our trees, it's horribly barren outside, I have over 16 bags of raked leaves at the side of the house with about another ten to fill, I loathe this chore more than any other.

Jane&Lance~ I've been wondering what type of tree it was, it just might be an Acer...I'd love to find out for sure as I'd like to plant a few on our property one day. The lifting of the spirits would be abound even more so then!
The week has been very busy thank you, but I'm settling in to the new schedule now and am getting used to my new 'normal'.
Wishing you a very fun filled weekend as well...xo

B&P~ first of all, I'm beyond impressed that you've been filling those bags! Mr. 24 does that enormous chore here, sometimes with the help of a few well paid neighbor boys...it's such a big job! You must have been surrounded by quite a lot of beauty though to have had the need for so many bags...at least there's that side of it to ease the tired muscles and make it all worthwhile! xo

What a cute, beautiful, red tree.

Its leaves are about the same colour as my nose right now after plenty of sneezing:D

HI jessica!!!! I too would appreciate parking under such a lovely tree. With the backdrop of the blue sky the colours are brilliant. Now I must get accustomed to those dark, rainy days. I think it's going to be a bit of a challenge, but like you I do appreciate the beauty that Autumn brings. The first wend we were here we drove out to the highlands, you would of loved it Jessica. The colours were breathtaking. I"ve missed you and can't wait to catch-up as to what has been going on with you?!!! Big hug to you xx oo

What a beauty, what a joy. In Holland the same, we had a very beautiful spring, a terrible summer and now a beautiful autumn. Most of the leaves from the trees around our house are gone by now. But the colours where absolutely beautiful. Enjoy your tree. XXX from Geri

My favorite season!! I love the changing leaves and the panoply of warm colors. We lost a couple trees this year in the storms - so sad. And since the weather stayed warm for so much longer this year, we, like you still have leaves on the trees mid-November - it's such a treat!

Hi Jessica

What a delightful tree. So perfect.
It would make a wonderful oriental rug pattern.

My late father would say at the end of a vacation, "let's go and sit and watch and file away memories for the long, dark days" and we always had a morning coffee outdoors doing just that.
You live in a wonderful place.
Helen xx

Very very lovely! I have a similar tree in my back yard. But sadly it is all done for the year. Kit

Linnea~ I hope your nose is getting back to it's normal color now...and most definitley not turning green, as the tree will do when it comes back! xo

DT~ I've missed you!! We'll share those dark rainy days together now okay?...ours started yesterday! And remember, your a natural...your PNW blood will remind you of that soon!
A long time dream of mine is to visit the Highlands...about ten years ago I studied them quite extensively...one day it will happen, and now it will include a visit with you as well!
Big hugs you sweet Scottish lass...
xoxo

Geri~ We've had the very same weather pattern this year haven't we?! I hope our spring and summer's are nicer next year, even if that means a not as nice a fall.
We are having strong storms passing through right now so I think our leaves will be gone very soon as well, I hope they can tough it out a bit longer though. xoxo

Mise~ Hear-Hear!...until springtime that is!! ;)

Elizabeth~ It *has* been beautiful...not so much now though, but at least the leaves are brightening up the dark skies a bit...I hope all this wind doesn't blow them away just yet!
Wishing you a nice and cozy weekend...thanks so much for stopping by. xo

Jacqueline~ Same here...all of our mountain passes have snow now! I don't think our pretty leaves will be around much longer either...but my fingers are staying crossed! xo

Quintessence~ Sad about the lost trees...hate when that happens! I'm glad your enjoying beautiful leaves still as well though...the power that spring and summer have over fall is truly amazing! xo

Dear Helen~ I so love the story about your father...it's very touching, and it tells a great deal about how you came to have such an awareness of beautiful surroundings, nature and otherwise.
Thank you so much for sharing this...and when I'm remembering the beauty of this fall in the dark of winter, I will also be remembering your father's thoughtful and sweet words. ♥

Kit~ I'm sorry your leaves have left...I'm praying ours will stay strong and hang out a bit longer, not ready to say goodbye just yet! xo

Dear Jessica,
What a wonderful walk with your faithful friend.....I felt that I was tagging along too.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment....I hope your father enjoys the post. It is a beautiful house with the most glorious grounds. They look wonderful in the Spring, colourful in the Summer, majestic in the Autumn and magical in the Winter.
Gilbert and Sullivan's operettas are not my cup of tea but, lunch in his house is !! XXXX
