Time With Gitzi

Thanksgiving is going to be a little bit different this year. Tomorrow I'm heading to California to spend some time with my mom, Gitzi, who actually hasn't been feeling all that well for quite a while. She is going to the hospital first thing Monday morning for surgery, and we're very hopeful she will feel much better soon afterwards. We might be having Thanksgiving dinner in hospital...which my dear friend Dumbwit says might not be all that bad (she happens likes hospital food though, at least the type they serve here in WA)! ;)

So for this post, I thought I would showcase some of my most favorite Gitzi creations...and in a way, dedicate it to her. My deepest wish is that she will soon feel well enough to resume her passion for creating art...that her creative spirit would once again find it's spark, and she could enjoy doing what she loves so much.

The two images below are from what I call, her 'Flowers In Flight' series.

She has always been a fantastic photographer...but now with access to such wonderful technology...the skies the limit for her imagination!

For years everyone has told my mom that she needed to get her art out there, but for one reason or another it just never happened...but just recently, with the help of a dear friend who is a painter, she is now on Red Bubble, and I'm so proud of her! Please stop by and visit if you'd like to see more of her work...I know she would be thrilled.

Now, I'd like to wish each and everyone of you a Very Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that you too will be spending this blessing of a holiday with those you cherish & love...and hopefully, there won't be any hospital food involved (just sayin Deb...homemade has to be better!).

You all mean the world to me and I'm so very THANKFUL for your friendships, your visits, and your great big hearts...and also, for the joy you bring to me by the sharing of your worlds...I feel so unbelievably blessed to know you!!! ♥

LPC~ You must have 'Stephanie' Meyers on the mind with this weeks premier of Breaking Dawn and all...I completely understand! ;)
Have a wonderful holiday...hope you get to spend it with your kids...and thank you, I'm so glad I grew up around my mom and her talent. xo

Quintessence~ Thank you. It's actually Deb (Dumbwit) that likes the hospital food, I did a bit of rewording about that, sorry for the confusion. Gitzi does *not* like hospital food...it will be interesting to say the least (I hope Deb is right and it won't be too bad)!
I'm so happy the techno age didn't detour her and that she did 'embrace' it...I think she knows more than me now! xo

These are difficult days for your mother, you and your family. I hope the surgery will go well.

My father painted beautiful thinks as well and he also never showed it "to the world". What a joy your mother uses modern technology, that she give someone the chance to help her with this.
So me, who is living far, far away, are able to see what she is making. And I think, it is great. From every picture I sence the plearure and creativity.

So, take care all of you and I hope soon to read, everything is ok again.

Wishing your highly talented artistic mother a very speedy recovery. Her work is just beautful and she creates with passion. If Deb says the food is good in the hospital, I would believe her.
Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving and good health to all

Oh dear Jessica, you had me smiling in a big way. I've been thinking of your mother (& you) since Sunday. I've been praying for positive results and your mother will be back doing what God truly has given her amazing talent for. How one family can be so blessed with such artistic talent!!

When you get a chance I'd love to hear how Gitzi is doing, and that goes for you too?

I know you'll make the best of your Thanksgiving no matter what you eat or where you are. You are just one of those people to look @ the positive in life. That's what I love about you.

Happy Thanksgiving my friend, and to Gitzi.
xx oo Deb the hospital food-lover.

Oof. Old age shows through. Jessica. How I mix up Jessica and Stephanie we cannot know. Three syllables each? In any case, my apologies, and more wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. You can call me Louise:).
