Today is Gitzi's birthday....not only is she an amazingly talented photographer and artist, but she is also my mom.
Her imagination continually surprises and delights me, and the creations that have come from that imagination, such as these recent floral works, have brought such joy...I fell instantly in love with these the moment I saw them.
Gitzi has been a photographer for as long as I can remember (hehe) and when I was a baby, she was taking photography classes, developing her own images, as well as her artistic eye and unique style.
Her adventurous spirit has been such an inspiration and gift to me...I'm forever grateful for having been able to grown up around someone who was never afraid to explore new forms of beauty and who was also always in awe of, and trying to capture, the beauty that was all around her.Happy Birthday Mampi (that would be my one year old self speaking)..I love you!!!

All I can say is Wow! Her beautiful images are so very reminiscent of the Arts an Crafts Movement,my fave! Are these doctored up photos? The colors are amazing. What is her process to arrive at such beauty?
Happy Birthday Gitzi!
Wow! Your mother is incredibly creative!
Pearl
Wonderful !! I love the yellow Iris !
Happy Birthday to a very talented Mom.
Elizabeth...I thought the same when I saw these, they looked like Arts and Craft Movement tiles to me. Here, she did "doctor up" her own images, which are beautiful to begin with, but the process is a mystery (to me at least). I'll ask her for the details, or maybe she can chime in. So happy you liked it all! xo
Pearl...Thanks, I think so, glad you do too! :)
Abroad...thank you!!! The Iris was my favorite too...I made a birthday card out of it for her actually! xo
Beautiful!
Happy New Year!

Beautiful artwork! They all seem to be illuminated from the inside out. Maybe that is symbolic of your Mother.
Best wishes for a Happy Birthday Gitzi!
Beautiful artwork!
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, there's so much creative talent in your family.
Even more beautiful than your mothers images, is your obvious love for her. I can feel it as I read your post.
Hugs,
Megan

Thank you very much for all your wonderful comments and birthday wishes and a special thank you to my lovely daughter Jessica who put up this special blog. I am always amazed when people like my art. I am constantly playing around with beautiful images and change them.
Years ago I left them alone as they were, but now I feel like changing them into unusual abstracts.
Thanks again, Gitzi
So lovely. Perfect for framing or as luxurious cloth.
