We've had family visiting from Massachusetts and California these past two weeks, and these pictures were taken after a lovely and special evening dining in Edmonds with a a few of them.
These vibrant blue thistles caught my eye immediately on our after dinner walk, and the fact that they were paired with these gorgeous roses made them even more intriguing...very patriotic pairing, don't you think?!
I was so enthralled with the blooms that I almost didn't see the perfect sunset showing itself off behind them.
I think I have a new wish list for the garden now...
Which we've actually been working very hard on lately, especially Mr. 24, as we're attempting to not be 'that house' on the block any longer. With the 'new' house having taken up so much of our time these past few years, the poor garden had gone by the scary wayside...seeing flowers like these though keeps me very motivated to continue the hard work of reclaiming every square inch of the grounds, and I must say, it's slowly coming along.

Karena~ I'm glad you think so! That image was taken in spring when we started, so different now, I'll have to share soon. xo
Hello Jessica
I agree with you plan. I, too, love thistles. I enjoy perennial gardens. Once established, there is less work.
Don't work too hard.
Helen xx
Helen~ Oh don't worry, it's Mr. 24 that's doing all of the hard work, I'm just planting the pots with pretty flowers and herbs...and of course advising him about what 'we' should work on next! ;)
