Why do creativity & procrastination always seem to go hand in hand? Take for instance the fact that I should be drawing the Space Needle, Mount Rainier, and a pair of Orca's this very moment.....
Not to mention finishing my poor salmon so he can get back in the water where he belongs!
He's not very thrilled that I placed him on the bench in the foyer and left him there all day...think I'd better work on him first!
I do have one completely completed project, well two actually. First is the Tulip Fields which were finished about a week ago...that was a huge relief...especially since they weren't even on the camp menu, just a whim I had when I realized I didn't have it in me to attempt making a Totem Pole...I'm saving that project for another day, or month....you just have to be in the right mood to carve a Totem!
The beautiful painting above is the other finished project we'll be attempting to create at camp...well, one very similar to it anyway...ours will be including a seagull and the Olympic Mountains though instead of Mt. Rainier...he's going somewhere else!
The painting was done by my sis-in-law's father who is a wonderful artist, and I'm so honored that she allowed me to borrow it for the camps! I can't wait for the kids to see it...and I really can't wait to see their interpretations of it! How I'm ever to give it back is a mystery!
Well thank you so much my kindred peeps, for helping me to creatively procrastinate just a wee bit longer, you've helped tremendously...I feel much more ready to doodle now!!
Wish me luck...

Sounds like you're in for a busy and creative summer!
I'm sure the kids will love what you have planned, and these paintings are all so different there should be something to inspire everyone.

Loving the tulip fields!! so beautiful!
What a fun camp that is going to be! I don't have a creative bone in my body so I totally admire anyone who can create works like this. Good luck!
Gill~ I think you would just faint with happiness if you saw our 'real' tulip fields up here...they're so amazing in person, amd the kids just loved doing the picture...we finished it today actually! :)
IvyLane~ Thank you...I wish the real ones were around all year long! xo
Sarah~ We've had a blast...and listen here missy...you are one of the most creative people I know...your epicurean delights and blog attest to that! Our class motto is 'everyone is an artist'...and we mean *everyone*...that includes you!! xo :)
Wow! All a visual treat! I love the salmon, especially. As for
"creativity & procrastination always seem to go hand in hand" --you couldn't be more right!! Looks to me as though you have been very productive :)
ElizabethRose~ Thank you...coming from you, that means a lot!! Drawing that salmon 'for the first time' with a bunch of 7 & 8 year olds was quite the adventure, but I'm happy to say they all came out fantastic and thank goodness, the kids had a blast doing it...eventually, and were amazed that they'd actually done it! :)
Just love those drawings, great inspiration for young children.
