So Pleased!

Welcome to our living room...and our new light fixtures!

From the moment I saw the pendants below in Renovation Style way back in the day (2007 or 8), I was in love... and dreamt of the day that they would somehow, someway, grace our home with their unique vintage style.

I discovered that they were from Schoolhouse Electric Co. and after many years of dreaming, was finally able to piece together a version that would work for our coved ceiling. This little guy below, the Hamilton 4, was the look I eventually started to aim for.

Most of our light fixtures have been ordered sight unseen, well they were seen online and in catalogs, but not in person (Rejuvination, where some of our other fixtures have come from, thank goodness is local). Not being able to see what "Antique Black" or "Matte Bronze" really looked like made for a few sleepless nights and several rounds of heart palpitations...especially because when fixtures are ordered to a custom length such as these, they are non-returnable!

Well...the Antique Black was a winner and we couldn't be more pleased (Matte Bronze ended up in the guest room, the Honey Suckle Suite, and it's a winner too)! The little white disks that are next to the fixtures are sprinklers our little city insisted we put in...(whole nother story). We're working on a way to incorporate them into the wood ceiling better, hopefully with something coppery.

Schoolhouse Electric has been a dream to work with (as was Rejuvination) and I'll post more of the beautiful fixtures we ordered from them soon. The last two images are from their website.

Hi Jessica, They're beautiful! I don't know what we would have done if we didn't have Rejuvenation and Schoolhouse Electric to go to! Both are in Portland and it was so helpful to look at everything in person. I love the look of schoolhouse lights. We have them in our kitchen and on our wraparound porch. They're classic. xoTrina

Trina...thank you! All of your fixtures are wonderful...when I first saw your blog the light fixtures caught my attention immediately, I especially love the pendant hanging over your little staircase. I think I aged a bit not seeing everything in person...lucky girl you are! ;)

Hi Jessica - so pleased to get your thoughtful comment today, many thanks. I was surprised to read you live in Lake Forest Park. I grew up in Snohomish, & lived off of 85th in Seattle before we moved to Texas 3 years ago. Your living room looks gorgeous & the light fixtures you chose I love. Can't wait to follow along on your progress. We are flying to Spokane next weekend for my sons graduation & then of course mom's memorial service. Good to be home again for awhile!

All my best,
Deb xx

Deb~ I know your a bit overwhelmed right now...it was very nice of you to stop by, thank you! I'm looking forward to getting to know you & your blog.
I hope you are enjoying Texas, so different there and I'm well aquainted with 85th, my husband used to live on it when we were dating and I drive it quite often...small world.
So glad you have your sons graduation to look forward to this visit...and again, truly sorry about your mom.

Take care this week,
Jessica xo
