Toy Box Boys

This past week, Mr. 24 and I were able to hang out with these two little munchkins for a few days...you know, the ones we built the toy box in our entry way for. It was the first time we'd had them all to ourselves for an extended period of time, and they survived quite nicely! It was fantastically fun...and I know so much more about dinosaurs and glow in the dark tooth brushes now!

It was such a relief to have the absolute freedom to be unabashedly, non-stop silly...all day long. To be required to make up goofy rap songs about Miss. Ginger, play Hungry Hippo & Crazy Lizard while having my morning coffee (that does not happen on a regular basis at my house!), make necklaces out of colored Sharpies, and of course...build amazing contraptions out of Legos' while singing the Spiderman theme song (among other things), was such a treat...our hearts were lightened to the point of almost floating away...what a blessing these two loves have been to us!

Now back to real life...I wonder if Mr. 24 will want to play Crazy Lizard tonight?!

LPC~ Yes they are...and goofy pies too! :)

Maryanne~ Airbourne...the medicine or the band?? Either way, I had neither...and I have to say that suprisingly, we survived fairly well...and not just by the skin of our teeth thank heavens! Their parents have done such a wonderful job with them, and they're an absolute pleasure to be with...not to say nap time isn't appreciated, but over all they're amazingly well behaved! xo

Having just read a pamphlet on raising responsible children...I just love when I see others who embrace children and teach them with kindness, love and also expect them to be independent and kind in return.
No doubt these boys will grow into fine young men. Keep in touch with them, be a part of their lives and in return you will have the reward of knowing fine men.
My boys are 18 and in college and I look back at all the life they lived under this roof and see so clearly the boys they were and the men they are. If I had to do it all over again, I would. I look to the day for Grandchildren and the energy to care for them with love and kindness.

Keep making up those songs! They look like two charming little rascals, and I can well imagine what a merry riot it must be to be in charge for a few days - such a break from the adult world of logic and consequence.

Linnea...I know...I can't stand how cute they are sometimes!! ;)

ElizabethRose...The one on the left is the dino expert that loved your 'little babies' so much...the other ooohed and awwed over them as well! xo

PVE...Such a beautifully written comment...I'm sure you could write such a pamphlet yourself...from what I've seen, your boys have been raised with much kindness and love, and their lives will be blessed for it!
My sis-in-law and bro-in-law are truly doing an amazing job raising these two, I just know they'll grow up to be 'fine young men', the same as your two have. xoxo

Mise...They are both very charming, and very rascally...in the best sort of way! You are so fortunate to have sweet Pink & Blue rescuing you from the logical world of adulthood on a daily basis. I'm hoping we will now get rescued more often (since we all survived so nicely)...after all, we *must* keep working on our songs! ;)

RedTicking...I knew you'd like the tots. I miss you!! Hope you're enjoying your Sunday...I see blue sky!! xoxo

My soul, they are cute.
And glow in the dark toothbrushes?!
Who knew?

Oh what great fun it sounds like you all had!
Theres nothing like a child (or 2!) to bring out the child in you - and it is such light headedly (as you say!) harmless nonsense fun too isnt it?
They are two cute fellas who opened up a whole new world to you by the sounds of things - who wouldve thought of glow in the dark toothbrushes - us adults miss out on so much fun!

Pamela&Edward and Gilly...Brushing ones teeth in the dark is now theee thing, how else can the purple glow of the toothbrush be admired as it moves up and down? I am thinking of purchasing one for myself (although they're a bit tiny)...why *should* we have to miss out on all the fun?! ;)

Thank you for your love and care, it is a lot of work, but you poured it out and we were all so blessed. You are welcome to come have coffee and play crazy lizards anytime, we would LOVE to have you!
HUGS to you sweet girl!
P.S. Reading all the very sweet comments about my dudes was so fun for me. You all are very generous, I feel so blessed to be their mama!
