If only we could explain things of this type to our pets...if only they could understand why we're going away, or taking them to the vet, or not giving them chicken anymore because they're allergic to it...the list goes on. It would be so much easier for them...as well as for us, if they could talk!
The four art camps were a great success and an absolute blast...I can't believe that they're already over and done! It's truly shocking how fast time flies when they're happening...so much prep, so much activity, so much fun, and then...
Whoosh, they're gone...until next year that is.
Of course, I can always visit and relive these special times, along with the wonderfully talented kids that partook in them...in the glorious 'land of images', where I know happy memories and a continuous smile will be guaranteed each time I do.
The Seagull pictures particularly make me smile...the one above seemed to be looking at his creator saying "Are we done yet...can we go home now?"
Little Miss. M's bird seemed to be completely up to no good...personally, I think he was planning to do a little target practice over the ferry!
The sweet seagull above was just saying "Isn't that one of the prettiest sunset you've ever seen?"...and I have to say...yes it is.
The Northwest Indian Salmon 'carvings' just amazed me. The details that the students added to their fish were so creative...I wish I'd taken more pictures of them!
Next year I think we'll definitely be trying the Totem Poles!
Even though I loved the Seagull's and the Salmon...I think visiting the Tulip Fields was my most favorite project...and because the majority of students had been to the Skagit Valley during tulip season and had seen the farms for themselves...they were very excited to visit them in oil pastel.
Maybe it was my favorite because I've been in such an obsessive gardening (and conservatory) mood lately...it's actually going to be difficult to leave garden (as well as Miss.Ginger). It's been coming along so nicely and I don't want to miss one single second of all the lushness.
I will be able to get a garden fix though while in LA...at the Getty Museum, one of my all time favorite places to visit. The Huntington Library is also one of my favorite gardens & museums, but I don't think I'll be able to go this trip...so the Getty it will be!
I'm just sure I'll be coming home with thoughts of building iron umbrellas for roses to climb upon (if it wasn't for our climate, it would definitely be bougainvillea!)...and azalea mazes for the local water fowl to play in...Mr. 24 best prepare himself for some serious garden working!
Other than visiting The Getty though...I'll mostly be playing nurse and hanging out with Poppy, my mom's main coon cat, who acts like a dog and is bigger than Ginger...he's just a big sweety at heart though, and quite the gentleman! So he and I are planning to have an enormous amount of time to visit you...and time is what I've been lacking lately, it'll be such a luxury to do so...and I'm actually going to try to post something from there, we'll see how that goes, I don't have a laptop so it might be tricky...I'm very game to try though!
Poppy and I will be seeing you all soon...♥
(BTW- Blogger *really* kicked my caboose on this post...it was one of the most difficult posts to get images and words to behave and stay put...hope it's a temporary issue. Simplicity please Blogger...simplicity.)

Oh what a cute face, love at first sight for me.
I hope everything goes well for your mum, things like this are so harrowing.
Hello Jessica:
We absolutely never tire of seeing the wonderful art work which you are able to inspire your young students to produce. And these examples are no exception, whether of the seagulls with the wonderful ferry boat, the highly coloured fish or the brilliance of the tulip fields - each is a masterpiece of imagination, flair and fun and you must be so proud to see these results.
We do hope that all will be well whilst you are away but are sure Mr. 24 will be well up to pet minding and keeping the garden in order. Although you are going on something of a mercy mission, we do wish you a happy and restful time.
I love the creative and beautiful artwork.Your budding Artists are fantastic!
Best wishes for your Mom to get through her health issues, and for you to also find comfort at the Getty Museum if you get the chance.
Take Care.
I hope the surgery goes well, and that Miss G. doesn't miss you too much :(
You sure got some beautiful work out of those kids!
Have a good trip!
Little Ginger reminds me of my old Puddin all grey faced. I left her once for a couple of months and couldn't stand it. I hope you are home soon with Ginger. But I'm looking forward to meeting Poppy. I love main coons...they are a good second to a doxie!
Your little Ginger is adorable. Doesn't it break your heart to leave her/him when you get the "doe eye" look?
Our little one likes her "peeps" home ALL the time these days . . .
Love your art school projects. Is there a post you have done that tells about your school, classes? Do you teach year around or just the camp? I would love to be a student in one of your classes. Smile . . . Love the photos of the children holding their art, and just a peak of their smiles.
I hope your mom does well and her "wobbles" are all better.
Hello Jessica
Ginger is adorable. I agree it is so difficult leaving them or changing their diet. I wish they could understand us.
Wishing your mother success and complete healing and recovery.
The student's art work is so full of excitement, enthusiasm and joy. It is marvelous to see how each painting differs and the smiles of joy on the children's faces. They are blessed with a teacher like you.
I will be thinking of you and keeping you in prayer.

what wonderful works of art!!
Miss Ginger is beautiful! I tell my guinea pigs everything. They know their names, why wouldn't they understand what I'm saying:)? Have a good journey!
Hello Everyone~ Thank you so much for the all the kind well wishes for my mom, I read them to her before she went into the hospital and she thought they were very sweet, she appreciated them so much! She's doing great by the way, and actually comes home from the hospital tomorrow...then it will be time for me to officially put my nurse hat on (hospital bed was delivered for the living room today)!
Ginger is doing better too, she loved all of your comments as well (I read them to her over the phone)...they and her new meds have her much less wobbly at the moment...I miss her like crazy!
I wish I could share all of your wonderful comments with the kids...when I see some of them during the school year, I'll share them...they'll feel very famous and excited, I'm sure!
I thought I'd have all sorts of time to visit (wishful thinking) but my 'other German mothers' have been taking care of me every second and I haven't really had much down time...it's been very comforting though and absolutely delightful to be coddled a bit...I'm very blessed!
Hugs to all...xo J~
Hi Jessica, wishing your mom the best and hoping Miss Ginger doesn't pine too much for you. She looks a sweety.
Love all the wonderful artwork done by your students. Such a talented bunch.
Take care and enjoy the Getty.
Yvette
Wonderful art work from the camp students - I'm sure everyone had a great time judging by the great pictures and smiling faces.
Wishing your Mum all the best, how comforting for her that you will be with her.
